About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator with strong expertise in MongoDB and MySQL to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise database environments. This role involves hands‑on administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and production support across multiple environments.
Key Responsibilities
MongoDB Administration
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MongoDB across Dev, Test, and Prod environments.
• Monitor performance, replication, and availability.
• Perform backups/restores (logical & physical) and validate recovery procedures.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and role‑based access controls.
• Troubleshoot performance, connectivity, replication, and storage issues.
• Collaborate with application teams on schema design and query optimization.
MySQL Administration:
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MySQL databases.
• Execute backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor performance, capacity, and availability.
• Perform tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Manage users, privileges, and data security.
• Handle patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance.
Backup, Restore & DR Management:
• Design and maintain backup strategies for MongoDB and MySQL.
• Conduct restore testing to ensure recoverability.
• Document backup, restore, and DR processes.
• Support audits and compliance requirements.
Monitoring & Support:
• Monitor database health and proactively address issues.
• Participate in incident management, RCA, and preventive actions.
• Provide on‑call and production support.
• Maintain operational documentation and SOPs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in MongoDB and/or MySQL administration.
• Strong knowledge of backup, restore, and recovery strategies.
• Hands‑on experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
• Basic scripting (Shell, Python, or similar).
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
