AS400/RPG Programmer/developer

Role: AS400/RPG Programmer/developer

Location: Charlotte, NC - Onsite (#Local only)

We are looking for an AS400/RPG Programmer to develop, maintain, and support applications on the IBM AS400 (IBM i) platform. The ideal candidate should have experience in RPG programming and be able to troubleshoot, enhance, and support business applications.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain applications using RPG (RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE, Free Format RPG).

Analyze business requirements and implement software solutions.

Debug, test, and resolve application issues.

Work with DB2/400 databases for data retrieval and updates.

Create and maintain CL programs.

Support existing AS400 applications and perform enhancements.

Prepare technical documentation for programs and changes.

Collaborate with business users and team members to deliver quality solutions.

Ensure application performance and system reliability.

Required Skills:

Experience with IBM AS400 (IBM i) platform.

Knowledge of RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE, or Free Format RPG.

Experience with DB2/400 and SQL.

Basic knowledge of CL programming.

Good debugging and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of ILE concepts.

Experience with Query/400, SDA, RLU, and DFU.

Familiarity with source control and change management tools.

Understanding of application support and maintenance.
